Well Fed Cat

I hummed a tune
and thought your name
felt my heart purr
like a well fed cat
worked in peace
walked in ease
time for the moment
had lost its whip
the dusk laughed, a little
like a gentle breeze
combing tall grass
in a near winter field
it nuzzled me gently
towards snug
low lighted comforts
I’ll eat with a warm body
and sleep in contentment
wrapped in a song
of silken poetry
and rich
vocal
vibrations
